Check out “Battle Harndened”
January 21, 2018
Did you know Bill Chapman?
Bill Chapman was one of the founders of the WSJ Society. Many of us knew him as the VP of Technology at Johnson Controls, and a President of ASHRAE. Beth Chapman, his wife, continues to be one of our dearly loved members, a regular at luncheons and reunions.
You may not have known that Lieutenant Bill Chapman led his men in the D-Day landing. That’s the subject of a new book written by his son, Craig Chapman, entitled “Battle Hardened: An Infantry Officer’s Harrowing Journey from D-Day to V-E Day.”
One of the many things Bill did in his career at Johnson Controls was to create a Research Department. That’s where I started my career at the company. Bill and Beth have certainly had an impact on my life and my family’s. I’m really looking forward to learning about this part of their life. It had an impact on many lives.
The book is currently available in bookstores and online.
However, we have an opportunity to meet the author in person on February 9th, right here in Milwaukee. Craig will be in Milwaukee for a book signing. Here’s the detail:
2529 N Downer Ave, Milwaukee, WI
7:00 pm, Friday, February 9th, 2018
See you there!
