Spring Luncheon, Milwaukee 2014
April 17, 2014
It was great to see some members who haven’t been with us for awhile. Vicky Doering was our first-time attendee. Thanks for coming Vicky. We hope you enjoyed the luncheon and picked up some points on financial planning.
Our speaker, Michael Olson is a J.P. Morgan Private Client Advisor located at the Chase Bank Branch in Fox Point, WI. Michael has over 20 years of investment experience, and has been recognized by Milwaukee Magazine as one of Milwaukee’s “Best Personal Wealth Managers.” Michael shared some of his experiences and expertise in his presentation “Financial Planning for Retirement.”
One point to pass along to grandkids – this is a lot easier if you start saving for retirement as a teenager, compounding interest is a phenomenal thing!
Michael took us through setting goals for needs, wants and legacy. A financial plan is personal and unique to situation, stage in life, and goals. A three-bucket strategy offers structure, addressing the near 6 years, intermediate 6 years, and long term. And of course, for investments, Michael showed an exhibit that demonstrated the power of diversification, good points all.
